Cairns, Port Douglas & the Barrier Reef

Unless you’re planning a drive up the coast from Sydney or Brisbane ( bearing  in mind these are 3-4 day drives) the sensible option is to fly into Cairns and make you base here or in one of the resort hotels in Port Douglas, where you can combine sightseeing with some relaxation time around the beach or beside the pool.

Of course, without a doubt the number one attraction in Queensland is the Great Barrier Reef where you can take a cruise to swim, snorkel and dive or spend a memorable overnight with Fantasea Reefsleep.

Inland you can spot crocodiles, birds and other wildlife on a river cruise through Daintree National Park and if you’re feeling adventurous, zipline over the Tree Canopy to admire birds-eye views of the forest, cascading waterfalls and the Great Barrier Reef.
