Farmstays & Rural Homestays

A farm or homestay is a popular choice in the Waikato regions, particularly if you’re headed south from the Bay of Islands and don’t want to overnight in Auckland. Staying in this area means you’re a little further on in your journey and on the right track for a visit to the Waitomo Caves the following day.

On South Island the farms of the Central Otago area and on the Canterbury Plains offer excellent hospitality.

Part of the farmstay experience is, of course, to watch or join in with farm activities, be that herding cattle, sheering sheep, or chasing ostriches!

There are a wide variety of farms which offer accommodation, usually on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, and we will endeavour to meet requests for your stay on any particular type of farm.
