New Zealand’s early lockdown policy appears to have been successful in reducing the infection rate and fatalities. That is starting to ease and as the New Zealand winter approaches the country has time to plan its new tourism strategy.

The first test will be travel between Australia and New Zealand before opening up to the wider world. It is too early to say when the first ex-UK flights will land, but we are monitoring the situation on a daily basis through our Hamilton office.

We’re hopeful that departures from September onward will operate as planned, all being well. As such, if you have an outstanding balance on a holiday booked, we’re asking that this is settled by the due date so that we can complete your arrangements and ensure your travel plans run as smoothly as possible.

If you’re concerned about making payments during these uncertain times, please rest assured that you can do this with complete confidence because your holiday is fully protected. All flights are booked through our ATOL bond and land arrangements through ABTA. We are also members of AITO, the Specialist Travel Association, so you can rely on us to do things by the book for total peace of mind.

We must be led by Government advice at this point and the decisions of the airlines. If there is a need to change your itinerary, we will get in touch with you, so please sit tight.

One thing about this awful virus is that it made us focus on what is really important; family and friends of course, and also living life to the full. If you are dreaming about discovering New Zealand do get in touch, we will be glad to share our expertise and enthusiasm for this beautiful country. Currently, we are all working from home but can be contacted by phone and email.

Thank you for your continued support during these testing times and please take care.
