Hanmer Hot Springs

Just 90 minutes from Christchurch, Hanmer Springs is a great day out, and well known and loved for its natural hot springs and stunning natural landscapes.

The small township of Hanmer Springs has a great range of shops, cafes and eateries and you’ll easily spend an hour or two exploring, but the focus of your trip is without doubt, the iconic Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa.

Here you can indulge in a huge array of spa treatments, or simply relax and soak up the scenery in one of the outdoor natural thermal pools. It’s a great place to unwind and take some time out – if you weren’t already totally stress free and relaxed on your holiday, you will be after a few hours here!

If you prefer to be on the go, Hanmer offers a variety of adventure sports too from Horse riding and mountain biking to bungy jumping and skiing, and there’s a great golf course too.
