Wakefield Quay House

Winner of a Trip Advisor Hall of Fame award for their outstanding customer service, Woodi and Johnny have been welcoming guests to Wakefield House Quay since 1999. Sadly, deep sea skipper Johnny has passed away having always loved the nautical life on the Quay.

The 1905 villa is furnished with wonderful antiques and many original artworks and sculptures from the Nelson region.  An original Rimu staircase, high ceilings and polished native timber floors give the colonial villa a wonderfully luxurious feel and the warmth and friendliness of Johnny and Woodi will make your stay extra special.

Enjoy taking a break from your travels and spend some time relaxing, watching the ships and yachts come and go and taking in the beautiful sunset from one of the hotels balconies. Just a short stroll along the waterfront will take you to some of Nelson’s best restaurants, giving you opportunity to sample the areas wonderful wines without having to worry about driving back home!

What our travellers love about staying here…

  • Woodi’s infectious enthusiasm and ability to wangle a restaurant booking at a moment’s notice, even on the busiest of nights!
  • The Crow’s Nest room – simply because of the fabulous balcony and the most amazing sunset views.
  • The intimacy of the B&B just having two rooms and ALL our guests rave about Woodi’s amazing breakfasts!
