Upper Deck Guesthouse

You’ll find Upper Deck Guesthouse on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach at the western end of the Bay of Plenty. The bed & breakfast is literally right on Waihi Beach so you can enjoy beautiful walks along the sand from the moment you step out of the door.

Owned by Jayne Jolly, a local jewellery designer, Upper Deck is a peaceful beachfront retreat that combines a fresh modern feel with more traditional, eclectic touches and we love it! The two guest rooms, one with an en suite and the other with a separate bathroom, are spacious, beautifully decorated and have a real beach house feel.

Breakfasts at Upper Deck are a real treat and in the summer months feature lots of home grown ingredients from Jayne’s veg and herb patch, along with other local seasonal additions.

The guesthouse is an ideal base if you are thinking of cycling the Hauraki Bike Trail which you can read more about here.

What our travellers love about staying here…

  • The location – Upper Deck is right on the beach so it couldn’t be more perfectly positioned for an early morning dip in the sea!
  • The eclectic mix of cafes, galleries, delis and gift shops in nearby Waihi village
  • The 1 hour bushwalk to Orokawa bay
