Nice Hotel, New Plymouth

Nice Hotel is New Plymouths oldest wooden building, though you wouldn’t think that when you’re staying there, such is the beautiful and loving way the property has been restored by owner Terry Parkes.

Filled with a fun and eclectic range of art and furnishings, Terry has created a unique and special place to stay, full of special touches and little details that make us think the Hotel should be called ‘Fantastic’ Hotel rather than just ‘Nice’!!

The Hotel’s restaurant ‘Table’ definitely deserves a visit, and the International cuisine with a kiwi twist has won Table several awards over the past few years. Guest can enjoy their meal in one of the several private dining rooms or outside in the gardens. In cooler months there’s an outside fire to keep you toasty and warm while you dine.

What our travellers love about staying here…

  • Chatting to owner, Terry who is a wealth of information regarding local galleries and a well-known character locally having won numerous ‘hospitality personality’ awards.
  • Spending a few hours in the Hotel ‘library and enjoying a complimentary tipple while reading and book swopping!
  • Discovering the Hotels hidden surprises including the tropical garden deck – perfect for relaxing after a busy day.
