Itinerary Highlights

Explore the rolling Cotswold countryside and its charming stone villages with a choice of up to four guided walks each day.

Half-Day Walks: A chance to visit Chedworth Roman Villa and feed the trout in the River Coln at Bibury. Walk along part of the Cotswold Way to Broadway, considered by many to be the jewel in the Cotswold crown, and
visit Sudeley Castle on the approach to Winchcombe. The walks finish after a picnic lunch for an early afternoon return to Harrington House.
Easier Walks: The gentle countryside of the Cotswolds is ideally suited to easier walking. From Bourton-on-the-Water we can walk through the meadows to the chocolate-box villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter or wander along the delightful valley of the River Windrush. We can also walk through the fields to picturesque market towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, whose golden stone houses so epitomise the area.
Medium Walks: Sample all the elements of the enchanting Cotswold landscape by walking over gentle undulating green hills, past historic hamlets and churches to Broadway, perhaps the most charming of all the Cotswold villages. We could also soak up the panoramic views as we cross the gently undulating hills to the fascinating town of Chipping Campden.
Harder Walks: Whilst rarely that taxing, the area’s excellent network of paths provides some very pleasant longer walks. We could trace the route of King Charles II’s escape from the Battle of Worcester along the ‘Monarch’s Way’, or walk over Ilmington Down to Chipping Campden. Other walks may take us down the limestone escarpment to Winchcombe or to the Roman town of Cirencester.
